This course provides the background information to get an overview of what EUMETCast - GEONETCast actually is. It is dealing with the organizations involved and the infrastructure behind, how data is transferred between organizations before it is disseminated, how the data is disseminated and also addresses the set-up of a local low cost ground receiving station and addresses some online tools to register for the services and keep track of the day to day service status.
